Wedding Photography

My wedding photography class exceeded the expectations I had going into the semester. I knew it would definitely be a fun shooting class because one of my favorite teachers, John Yates, was teaching it. I had never actually shot a wedding, but I've always believed God put on my heart to be a wildlife, travel, and culture photographer. This class, along with many other classes this semester, has let me come out of my shell as a photographer.

One of our last location shoots was at The Lodge in Nashville, TN. It was such a beautiful location.

The models wore dresses from Modern Trousseau Nashville and all the images were styled by John Yates.

Flower bouquets were made by yours truly and Lara Richardson.

The most that I took away from this class was how even if you don't have a traditional style weddings can still appeal to you as a photographer. This past weekend I was able to assist/shadow my teacher at one of his weddings he photographed. I learned the most because I was actually seeing what goes on during the wedding day. I am very grateful of him giving me the chance to see how what goes on at a wedding on the photographers end and a few shots for my portfolio.

Hopefully I can begin to find my own style in Wedding Photography, thanks to John Yates to showing me how much fun wedding photography can really be.
